Masó. Arquitectura industrial

First monographic study dedicated exclusively to the industrial architecture designed by Rafael Masó (1880-1935). The chronological tour presents twenty-one projects dated between 1906 and 1934, that is, the entire career of the architect, and includes numerous plans, photographs and drawings that were previously unpublished or little known, in addition to current photographs of the buildings that are preserved. Masó worked mainly for the Ensesa family of Girona, for whom he designed various industrial buildings and warehouses, as well as for other clients such as the Teixidor, Callicó, Adroher and Coll Viader, representatives of a new urban, commercial and industrial bourgeoisie, who wanted architecture that represented their social status, the progress and the modernity of their companies. The book shows how in Masó’s industrial buildings you can also see the evolution of the architect’s language, from Noucentisme to his latest proposals, in which he had begun to apply a language clearly identified with the Modern Movement.
