Retrospective volume of the career of photographer Jordi Puig (Barcelona, 1963).
The negation in the book’s title refers to the discretion that characterizes Puig, who, working from Lladó (Alt Empordà, Catalonia), has become one of the professionals with the most extensive and original body of photographic work produced in Catalonia over the last three decades. The book includes an anthology of more than 200 photographs from his multiple projects and series, as well as a selection of over 70 publications.
The visual language developed by Jordi Puig is a symbiosis of direct photography infused with critical reflection and a sense of magic. The people, objects, and landscapes in his photographs are at once familiar and everyday, yet through the photographer’s gaze they often appear enigmatic, mysterious, or strange.
