Coinciding with the commemoration of the 2,100th anniversary of the founding of Girona, this book explains the urban evolution of the modern city from the mid-19th century to the present, with an eye on the future, showing the different current plans for renovation and growth for the coming decades. It includes a hundred original plans, historical documents, drawings, photographs and reproductions that, on the one hand, show the main urban plans of Girona since the demolition of the walls and, on the other, the specific projects that have marked the creation and character of various neighborhoods and sectors: La Devesa, the banks of the Ter and Domeny rivers, the orchards of Santa Eugènia, the Archaeological Walk, the Old Town, the Sant Daniel Valley, Les Pedreres, Sant Narcís, the Mercadal, the Parc del Migdia and the Parc Central Rafael Masó. And it ends with the presentation of the most recent projects, such as ecological connectivity and those in sectors such as the Barcelona road and the new Josep Trueta Health Campus, among others.
